If you think we’re going to let this rare celestial phenomena pass without making a playlist dedicated to it, well you’re almost right. But, we wanted to race it, so here’s a collection of songs to listen to while you stare lovingly into the sky.
Some of you might think, “Wait, what’s going on? What is it for?” Either you’ve been logged off Facebook for 2 days now, or you’re just not aware of this event. If not, we’ll explain it for you: today, January 31, 2018, Earthlings are lucky to witness a “Super Blue Blood Moon,” a super moon during a full lunar eclipse, on the second full moon of the month. They say it happens so rare that it could only happen every 150 years. What a time to be alive. Right?
Going back to the music, we almost wanted to not include Frank Sinatra’s “Blue Moon,” because it’s just that predictable. But we decided to put it anyway because why the hell not. Aside from that obvious choice, you’ll find songs from Phony Ppl, Radiohead, Cibo Matto, Petit Biscuit, Bjork, Tom Waits, Pale Grey, Retrolux, Twist, Deep Sea Peach Tree, Blood Orange, Coma Cinema, and some classics from The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Police, and Jamiroquai. Enjoy the diversity of this playlist as much as you enjoyed the rust of the moon tonight.
