It’s that blurry time between Christmas and New Year, and you don’t know exactly where you are or what you’re doing (or where you’re supposed to be or what you’re supposed to be doing). Don’t fret, dream pop band, No Vacation, gives us a calming joint as a holiday present in the form of their hushed out track, “Reaper.” It should be enough to keep your sanity levels on point.
“Reaper” reminds us of how to settle your emotions when a heavy feeling starts to cloud over. Having a similar effect of meditation and yoga, “Reaper” teaches us how to stay calm despite stressful instances. The song is not more than 3 minutes long, and it’s just about enough to allow you to pull yourself back together.
Formin in early 2015, No Vacation has always been into bedroom pop, as highlighted in their first mixtape, “Amo XO.” After an unexplained hiatus, the five-piece San Francisco natives are now back in full swing playing shows in Brooklyn with their self-branded “wavy-gravy” type of dream pop.
“Reaper” is included in the band’s fresh EP called “Intermission” via Topshelf Records.
