Feature Song | Lorine Chia | Comfort (feat. Chuck Inglish & Jez Dior)

– by Camille Banzon, Music Editor –

Proclaimed by the artists as a smooth “feel good bbq jam,” Lorine Chia’s new song, “Comfort” is what you need to have a steady, chill afternoon with the homies.

There are some songs that just hit the right spot, and Comfort is absolutely one of them. Within the first few seconds, the song clearly paints a picture where it will take the listener: to a laid back setting with a steady vibe and some sweet joints moving around.

“This record is a feel good BBQ jam. Makes me feel like forgetting about my problems and smoking one. Just close your eyes and go to your place of Comfort,” said J. Kelr, as posted by HotNewHipHop. Kelr added that Chuck Inglish wrote the rap right after “they had dinner,” so it’s obvious that this song comes from a good place. Listen to the verse and you can hear rhymes about hot sauce, nachos, flautas and tacos.

“My new diet is whiskey and kombucha/ Tryna find something to do/ And flipping through pages of kama sutra” is one of the more notable rhymes in the track, providing some trendy afterthought with the suave groove.

The true star of the J. Kelr-produced track is of course, Lorine Chia’s silky voice that swaggers all over the song. Chia’s ingenuity is something we can all get used to: the artist has been all over, spreading her vocal magic and fresh energy in the r&b and soul scene. The Cameroonian, Atlanta-based singer/ songwriter/ rapper’s EP, “Sweet Noise” was produced by Rami Beatz (Kid Cudi, Juicy J, Big Sean), and was lauded by Billboard, and Fader. Big things are definitely going to come through for Chia, and this song is a strong proof of that.
