An ephemeral, tranquilising track, “Something Real” by Denton Thrift is a track that evokes all the feels.
There are some tracks that takes you to places in your heart that you never thought existed, and “Something Real” does just that. The Leeds based electro duo uses unique percussions that scream the sound of nature, and blends it with deep-layered synth to demonstrate feelings as deep and complex.
“[The song ] represents the period in a relationship where the breakdown is inevitable, along with the realisation and subsequent lamenting that comes with this foresight. The longing for something that’s real as opposed to the numbness experienced during the transition between love and loss of,” describes the band.
