Feature Song | Black Sea | Analeptic

– By The Violet Wave Staff –

Another guitar-driven indie track with an 80’s feel and hushed vocals, Black Sea’s “Analeptic” is today’s feel good hit.

The 3-piece band from Huntington Beach, California blends dream pop and experimental rock with a little bit of punk attitude. It’s the kind of mix that’s ideal for an easy day when you don’t want to do anything and just sleep and daydream all day.

“Today I’m sleeping in/ Trust fall the void I seek within/ And it’s so analeptic for something so abysmal/ They always say just let it go,” sings frontman and multi-instrumentalist, Cole Devine, as if ripping a page from a memoir of a forlorn (and obviously alt/indie poet).

The song is included in the band’s debut album, Disappointing Sunset, and just by this track and the title alone, we’re certain that it’s a melodic collection of beautifully tragic dream punk songs.
