– by Wendy Morley –
Photographer Irina Souiki is a self-taught artist drawn to abandoned places “because their decaying beauty is bound to disappear.” Her eye is caught by colorful and unique details that are often overlooked. She is particularly attracted to rust, peeling paint and their abstract details, as well as desolated scenes that bring out the humanity of their past.
Born in Romania, Irina now lives in Canada with her husband and two sons.
