– by Camille Banzon, Music Editor –
Ethereal, airy, blithe and enchanting. Le Son’s “Ava” has all the right ingredients for a memorable trip. P.S. Make sure you have water.
Le Son’s genre could very well be classified as “electro soul,” and it shows through and through in the song. Emily Andy’s versatile voice and style could go well with an entirely different melodic or genre treatment, but it truly belongs in Le Son’s relaxed, synth and chime-stitched electronic approach.
Listen to Ava by this London-based act below and get ready for a lustrous lull.
Camille Banzon is the music editor of The Violet Wave. After years of covering music festivals, concerts and reviewing albums, she decided to move to a tropical surf island, where she runs a hostel and spins old school hip-hop in parties once in a while. Her work on music writing can be seen in FHM Philippines, Pacifiqa, Coconuts Manila, and Amplify.ph. She likes to drown herself in sound, and she spends most of her days writing, surfing or obsessing over her dog, Cruiser. Got a song you want us to feature?
