An anthem for an irresistible affection for someone, Hamish Anderson’s “U” is a bluesy track that plays on emotions and falling hard.
Heavily influenced by the likes of Jeff Buckley, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Petty, and other late greats, Hamish Anderson is an indie blues rocker who’s slowly making his mark on the gritty music scene. Some of his tracks have been featured in various Spotify playlists and “U” is becoming an instant favorite of blues rocks fans in Australia because of his smooth, old school sound.
“We wanted to do the majority of it live, with very few overdubs—get a really great band together and have it be about the songs, not about spending so much time on how the bass drum sounds. It was capturing, warts and all, the live thing. Rock music and blues music shouldn’t be perfect, and I’m really proud that there’s no Auto-Tune on it, that nothing was done to a click track.” Said Anderson in a release sent to The Violet Wave
Interesting fact: Anderson was one of the last musicians to open for BB King before he passed away.
