Feature Song | For Esmé | Doubtmouth

– By The Violet Wave Staff –

“Doubtmouth” by For Esmé is a fun, keyboard and synth-filled trip to the 80’s, and it’s a lively shout to feminism.

We’re all for feminism. We think that all women should be empowered and they should be able to say what they want without being criticized because of their gender. And For Esmé’s “Doubtmouth” just made us love it more. Her vocal style is such a joy to listen to, it’s the perfect song to send to your girlfriend who’s feeling down. It will definitely lift moods and push a beauty night-in with the girls.

“I wanted to explore the themes of trying to be a modern, progressive, open-minded woman, and all the challenges that come along with that, especially that of confronting one’s own privilege. I found the exploration at times painful and isolating — realizing how much people prefer the comfort of the status quo,” said For Esmé, in a release sent to The Violet Wave.

Her EP, Righteous Woman is set for a May 25 release, and this song is a vivid taste of the kind of fun-sounding empowerment For Esmé will give us.
