Think about this: If Animal Collective and Future Islands did something together, the result would be Danke Shane’s “Cave In.”
We’re not suggesting that Danke Shane has an unoriginal style. In fact, it’s the opposite. The DC-based singer and songwriter presents dreamy synths, string-heavy psychedelic melodies and layered baritone vocals braided into a whimsical sound. “Cave In” sounds versatile and it’s something that would fit the shiniest and darkest of situations, depending on how your mind works.
Danke Shane, whose real name is Andrew Burke, has 6-song a self-titled EP, and it’s definitely worth a listen. Check it out in his Soundcloud page.

Camille Banzon is the music editor of The Violet Wave. After years of covering music festivals, concerts and reviewing albums, she decided to move to a tropical surf island, where she runs a hostel and lives off of coconuts, bikinis, and streaming. Her work on music writing can be seen in FHM Philippines, Pacifiqa, Coconuts Manila, 8list, and Amplify.ph. She likes groovy basslines, clean waves, and stinky cheese.
