If you love the visual sensibility of Wes Anderson, then you’ll appreciate the video for Falcon Jane’s “Go With The Flow” with its symmetry and pastel hues.
Falcon Jane led by Sara May, and she describes herself as a “candid, virgo, stoner-songwriter.” She has a soft, subtle tone that reminds us of how Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star) sings and separates her syllables. Sara’s background in filmmaking became evident after directing this video.
“It was nice to be able to combine my two passions to create this masterpiece,” said Sara.
There’s so many things to love about this music video, and we can’t pick a favorite moment from it because the color treatment and the styling is the kind of stuff we live for.
Sara had some thoughts with “Go With The Flow,” saying that it’s laid back vibe is to mellow out over thinking.
“Go With The Flow is the ultimate chill out song for freaky, anxious, over-thinkers like me. This is my fave Falcon Jane song right now, so I wanted the video to feel very personal to me. I directed, produced and edited the video (got my BFF Deviio to shoot it) and it’s basically about me chillin’ in my small town doing things that relax me and make me feel cool,” said Sara.
The song is as chilled, honest, and easy as the title suggests. The arrangement hits the spot like a soft, warm blanket on a chilly night.
“I tried to get by on my own, all I know is I’m slow as it goes. But I’m used to it,” sings Sara in the song’s chorus.
