14. Sky Ferreira: Masochism///TBA
In 2015 Ferreira said she was taking time off from touring to work on the new album, Masochism. It has been three years since her debut album Night Time, My Time took over the indie world so she is more than due for a follow up this year.
13. Death Grips: Bottomless Pit///TBA
In October last year, Death Grips announced that their new album, Bottomless Pit, would be hitting the shelves soon. Although an official release date has not yet been announced, most people expect it to be available in the first half of this year.
12. Red Hot Chili Peppers: TBA///TBA
Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis told Rolling Stone magazine that the band had written some new material and it was “as good as anything” they had written. The RHCP have been in the studio in the past few months. All this points to one thing: new music, baby.
11. Frank Ocean: Untitled///TBA
The long wait for Frank Ocean’s follow-up to his 2013 release Channel Orange continues. Although Ocean said nearly two years ago that he had completed 10 songs for the new album, a release date has not yet been confirmed. Could this be the year?
10. DIIV: Is the Is Are/// February 5th
The confusingly titled follow up to DIIV’s debut album Oshin is set to be released in February. Singles including “Under the Sun” can already be heard. The band looks to be creating a similar sound to what made them successful in 2012. But we don’t mind.
9. Run the Jewels: Run the Jewels 3///TBA
Killer Mike and El-P have been promising a follow-up to their mainstream breakthrough Run the Jewels 2 for nearly a year now. They spent last year touring around the world but maybe 2016 will lead to some new music. We’ll see.
8. Wild Nothing: Life of Pause/// Feb.19th
Wild Nothing are finally following up after their 2012 release, Nocturne. Concerning the feel of the new album, front man Jack Tatum told Pitchfork, “I wanted this record to feel more natural. I wanted it to ebb and flow in a way that the other records did not.”
7. The xx: TBA///TBA
Producer of the band Jamie xx said in interview they are at work on their third full-length release. 2015 was Jamie’s year, let’s see if he can keep his momentum going.
6. M83: TBA///TBA
Sole M83 member Anthony Gonzales released a statement in October of 2015 that he is working on a new album. If it is anything like his last release, 2012’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, we are in for a real treat.
5. Spiritualized: TBA///TBA
Spiritualized leader Jason Pierce announced in January of 2015 that he was working on a follow up to 2012’s Sweet Heart, Sweet Light. Although there is no official release date, it will likely be released this coming year.
4. Gorillaz: TBA///TBA
Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn has said that he is furiously working on the follow-up to the band’s third full-length, Plastic Beach. Whether it will be manage to be released this year is uncertain, but we fans can still dream.
3. Kanye West: Swish///TBA
Kanye West has released singles from his new album, but not a date for when we should expect it to drop. Yeezus was king of 2013. Can Kanye do it again three years later?
2. Animal Collective: Painting With/// February 19th
The only sure thing in our top 5. If the rest of the album sounds like single “Floridada”, then it seems like Animal Collective has returned to the synth-psych sound that made the world fall in love with them on their 2009 album Merriweather Post Pavilion.

It’s been five years since King of Limbs was released and that album was only 40 minutes long. I know you can’t rush genius, but come on guys! We’re getting antsy over here. Apparently a couple of months ago, Thom Yorke previewed some songs from the new full-length when he was in Paris.
